Sridhar M. Durbhakula, MD

A graduate of the Honors Program at Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, Dr. Sridhar M. Durbhakula completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Albany Medical Center in New York. There He then went on to complete advanced fellowship training in total joint replacement surgery at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital, in affiliation with Harvard University. Dr. Durbhakula specializes in the comprehensive treatment of hip and knee arthritis, including joint preservation techniques, minimally invasive partial and total joint replacement, complex revision total joint replacement and computer-assisted and robotic techniques. Dr. Durbhakula has pioneered direct anterior hip replacement in the DC Metro area with the use of navigation and the specialized Hana table. He has performed several thousand of these procedures over the past ten years. He has helped to develop HipAlign, a patented computer-assisted technique to perform minimally invasive surgery. He has also designed the Libertas THA, a system specially designed for anterior hip replacement. He is a co-director of the Washington Joint Institute and has served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Shady Grove Hospital. He serves as a Clinical Instructor with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as well.
